The panel will reflect on efforts by The Mississippi Truth, Racial Healing and transformation Alliance to convene Mississippians for honest conversations about race, fostering racial healing and facilitating collaborations with community organizations, local governments, educational institutions, and businesses in achieving long-term, sustainable change.

Background

Earlier this year, six institutions were selected to be members of the Mississippi Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Alliance and lead racial healing statewide. Mississippi’s cohort worked to unite communities across the political and racial spectrum, employing various strategies and ideas for generating meaningful dialogue, trust-building, the deepening the understanding around dismantling persistent poverty, deeply rooted inequities, and racism.
